Radio interview with Mariangela on Soulfire Sundays
On August 7th, 2011, I was a guest on Soulfire Sundays with Mariangela at LA Talk Radio. We engaged in mystical discourse on the first two articles I wrote, The Emergent Self and Surrender.
Surrender
Letting go into the whole Self is like releasing into a rapid river that flows with precise knowing. The journey in coming to this river, falling into it, letting go of the last rock and branch, and struggling to gain the breath to survive the rapids is the journey of Self.
Let go and fall…into the container, the quantum, the mystery of being.
As I let go of my attachments, my ideas, and my ambitions of control, I realize that I fall deeper into myself and I actually merge with life and all of its existence. I merge with true nature and it is born inside me like an inner knowing that blooms to the surface of my consciousness.
The process of surrender is a painful one. For me, I have spent a year wandering through the dark night of my soul where I met and greeted my cast off pains, fears, sorrows and grief from this life and the lives I have lived before. The shadow of the dark night enveloped my world and I confronted the most hidden and shamed parts of myself only to also greet others who crawl, wallow, and dance in the dark as I do. The most blessed realization I made from this experience was that as much as the light impacts and illuminates the dark, so too does the dark impact and cradle the light. They are one continuum of a greater whole each bestowing gifts to consciousness.

The Emergent Self
Out of the context of our internal matrices we can emerge fully enlivened and brightened by the quality of our being and we can do that today like a child passing through development into the fullness of their own adulthood.
I realized for myself today that the emergent spiritual body in me is rising as the sun across the crest of my life. How has this happened? This happens through experiencing, living, and being in my own process. What is process? There are many interpretations and mine, for the moment, is simply that it’s the arch inside of us that is always in ‘ing’…moving, dancing, laughing, crying, playing, hurting, praying, meditating and so on. To be always in the ‘ing’ is to always be present to yourself.
